Kyle & Esther’s Gorgeous Autumnal Wedding at The Orangery at Settrington

It rains in Yorkshire. Fact. Especially in Autumn

So when organising a wedding, it’s wise not to rely on a venue’s outdoor spaces solely for your celebration. This was at the forefront when Kyle & Esther planned their Orangery at Settrington wedding. The Orangery at Settrington has an impressive indoor reception space featuring vaulted ceilings and tall stone pillars, which combined with the large arched windows offering views of the grounds, create the perfect romantic setting for a wedding. It just so happens that it’s also one of the largest indoor wedding venues in the North of England! Situated just outside the Orangery’s courtyard sits the quant All Saints Church where Kyle & Esther tied the knot. One of my favourite aspects of the venue was the blissful quietness and peacefulness of the countryside surroundings – a change from bustling inner city venues.

The Morning Preparations

I started my day catching up with Esther at the chic Garden Cottage, a lovely bridal accommodation for the night before the wedding also provided by the Orangery. There was a plentiful supply of prosecco and croissant to keep the bridesmaids fuelled… and me (croissant that is). The amazing Laura Balmforth and Helen Radford provided hair and makeup for Esther, and her bridesmaid’s. Their details along with all the other awesome suppliers are at the end of this post.

Esther looked stunning in her dress with flowers by Topiary Tree which complemented the day’s colour scheme & style perfectly.

The ceremony at All Saints Church was beautiful, and heartfelt – something that shines through from the photographs. But it wasn’t without it’s fun too – as at the end a flash mob style choir broke out formed by the guests and mother of the bride. It was a fantastic surprise and added to the atmosphere of the day.

The choir weren’t the only musical treat for the guests as Nick Stead put on a few sets of live piano playing while the guests enjoyed an English cream tea spread.

A Fantastic Evening Reception

Later in the evening, the Young Souls played Kyle & Esther into their first dance, and the dancing didn’t stop from then on! I’ve seldom seen a wedding with so many people on the dance floor enjoying themselves all at once. The huge ‘Lovelights’ spelling out DENCH only added to the evening’s party atmosphere.
